Hawks Ready for Queenstown Adventure
Rolleston Rugby Club's Year 7 Hawks are preparing for an exciting trip south as they get ready to compete in the NZJRF Global Games Junior Rugby Festival in Queenstown.
As part of the Ellesmere Sub Union within Canterbury Rugby, Rolleston Rugby Club has grown into one of the region's largest and most vibrant rugby communities. Built on strong values of community, determination, and a love of the game, the club is proud to see another group of young players taking the next step in their rugby journey.
The Hawks enter the festival with a strong core of players who have spent several seasons playing together, alongside some new teammates who have joined the squad as they transitioned to full-field rugby this year. Under the guidance of coaches Rodney, Lee, Jeff and Modsey, and manager Teresa, the team has worked hard throughout the season and is eager to put their skills to the test.
For many of the players, this will be their first experience attending a tournament of this scale, making the trip about much more than just rugby. The festival provides an opportunity to compete against teams from across Aotearoa, develop new friendships, experience new challenges, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
The players, coaches, and families are excited for what promises to be a fantastic few days of rugby, teamwork, and fun in one of New Zealand's most iconic sporting destinations.
